PERSONALITY
Kiavo has a tendency to seem aloof to those that do not know him; but to those that do, they know he is listening and filing away everything they tell him. Although he has never learned to read, Kiavo has always excelled in remembering almost everything others tell him.
Loving and carefree, Kiavo is the type to give you the clothes off his back just because he can. Making an enemy of him can be hard, if not impossible; he thinks everyone deserves a chance and believes everyone has the chance to change. Though not opposed to violence, it is his last option and he would prefer to use his voice whenever possible. As a result, he has been known to be charismatic.
As a devout follower of the ancient elven religion, Kiavo loves telling the ancient histories of his people. Though once a secret, Kiavo has never agreed with following rules he did not believe in--and thus, is always open to answering any questions about his people and their ancient beliefs.
HISTORY
Kiavo grew up in a nomadic clan of elves, constantly traveling through the forests and trees. His parents were loving and raised him to be generous and kind to everyone he met. Kiavo was something of a child prodigy within his clan, directly blessed by the unnamed ancient elven god of death. For Kiavo, this power was a blessing that provided him healing magicks and the ability to usher his people comfortably into the afterlife. His people did not fear death, and his presence among them brought the clan a great comfort. He apprenticed directly under the clan's matriarch and was being prepared to take the position upon her retirement. Unfortunately for the clan, that day would never come.
As a nomadic people, Kiavo's clan had many run-ins with self-proclaimed lords and city leaders who did not want them outside their walls. Even with their extensive trading of quality hides, weapons, and leathers, many humans did not trust what they did not know. Kiavo was out hunting deep in the forest when he smelled the smoke.
As fast as he ran back home, he did not make it in time. All that remained of his home--his people--was a smoking pile of ashes. After allowing himself a moment of sadness and prayer, Kiavo forced himself to stand. Never the type to seek revenge, Kiavo swore to instead bring understanding of other elven clans out there to the humans of the land. As such, he became a voice for the nomadic elves in lands far and wide, hoping to spread the memory of his people to any who would listen.
